Patron

You sit at the end of a table too long to see your host at the head. You float within a pit too vast to know the depth. You stare into a light so bright that it spites the sun. There's no question in your mind as to how you arrived, only that this is where you were always supposed to be. All to receive the offer, the alien kindness that you know yourself to have always been owed. A chance to be strong, to be wise, to be clever, or fate's favored lover.

The fourth entry in a set of 13, Patron is a short fiction zine inspired by the "Warlock" class found in multiple fantasy roleplaying games.
